Junior Membership is included within the coaching fees. This means you can book a court to practise what you’ve been learning.

Piers is hoping to start a new junior section where players can use the courts and equipment under supervision. This will give children, encouragemant and opportunity to play more tennis. This will be free of charge, but to make this successful he needs volunteers to help him (please contact Piers direct on  07795 384027).

Holiday Courses run in all of the school holidays, all year round for all ages. Holiday courses are a great way to introduce new players to the game and help develop those who can’t take part in the term time programmes. Players of all abilities are welcome to book.

One-to-One coaching is ideal for those who want personalized tuition and maximum results. Perfect if you want to focus on a specific area of your game. Lessons can focus on technique, tactics, fitness a hitting partner or match play.

We try to organize as many in club tournaments as possible. We also try to encourage players to play in tournaments outside the club to gain more match practice and experience. If you are a perent and wish to get involved with organizing tournaments and helping out then please contact Piers direct.

Mini Juniors

The Mini Tennis Programme is for players from 4 to 11 years of age, and incorporates the Lawn Tennis Association’s Mini Tennis Stages. Players play the whole game and use every shot on smaller size courts, lower bouncing balls and smaller rackets. This makes it suitable for all ages and abilities.

Mini Murray’s (Red)

Young Players aged 4 to 8 years, who have no or little experience. They will progress developing good hand-eye-co-ordination, basic racket skills and stroke techniques. Fun individual and team games introduce the rules and good sportsmanship.

Future Federer’s (Orange)

Beginners and improvers aged 7 to 10 years. Building on core skills, co-ordination and improving court play while serving, returning and rallying.  Also are guided on simple patterns of play to move opponents around to create winning opportunities.  Balls remain a medium bounce to encourage the players’ development

Raging Rafa’s (Green)

Beginners and improvers aged 9 to 12, and those moving up through the programme. Players develop the skills needed to rally from the baseline and keep a good court position. Full tennis scores are learnt in match situations and players are also introduced to doubles and basic tactics for this format of the game.

Junior Development

Players aged 11 and up progressing from the Mini Tennis Programme, using full yellow balls on full sized courts.

Development Squad (Yellow 1)

Improvers ready to take their tennis more seriously, and for recreational players who are looking to progress their tennis further. Players prepare to compete in outside tournaments where the full ball is used on a full-size court. Good techniques and patterns of play are reinforced to see tennis as a tactical game, playing to your opponent’s strengths and weaknesses. This is where the mental side of tennis comes into play and the players are encouraged to find ways of playing different styles and overcoming obstacles.

Tournament Squad (Yellow 2)

Players are keen to work hard to improve their tennis looking at the fitness and nutritional side. There is emphasis on the construction of points in doubles and singles, plus movement skills are developed so that players can react faster and dictate play on court. They are encouraged to play in tournaments in and outside the club.
